New moon review book 2
4 of 5 stars.
Here we are at the beginning of the second book. This is where we see Bella’s notorious birthday and we see where everyone leaves and Bella is left with nothing. This part broke my heart a little bit because I remember that moment in the movie but also out of real life experiences. But for me I didn’t end up with that person but I got to have my happy ending. Knowing Bella is going to shut down so soon into the book hurts my heart because she didn’t deserve for him to do her like that and she didn’t deserve all of his family who she had grown to love to leave her either. We go 4 months before she finally “wakes up”. When you read and learn how in love she was with him watching there be so much said to just the names of the months for 4 months or pages broke my heart because she just stops existing in away for that time. She goes out with Jessica and does some dumb shit and the next day she picks up the motorcycles and takes them to Jacob. This is the point where I remember saying I was team Jacob in the movies because he was picking up her pieces that Edward had broken. She talks about how she enjoys spending time with Jacob while he works on the bikes. She meets his friends Embry and Quil and they give Jacob a hard time both while Bella is there and when she starts to leave. Charlie sees a change in Bella as she comes home and he asks her how her time with Jacob. We finally see Bella opening up once again but its not as genuine as one might hope. We get to see her ride the motorcycle and in a way it’s like she is finding her ground in how to make his voice appear but I think in a way it is crazy how hard she is trying to hold on to him. Bella goes to the movies with Mike and Jacob and Mike gets sick and Jacob makes fun of him because of it. Bella found the place where Edward had taken her and she realized it doesn’t hold any part of him that she was looking for. We finally see Jacob again after he is away for sometime and Bella asks him what happened. He wouldn’t tell her and she then asked if they were friends, and he said they “were”. This was upsetting on it’s own because we had to watch Bella get emotional again and this time because she was losing another person she got close to. We find out that Jacob is a werewolf and he was going through the change when he made Bella leave him alone. She had to figure it out on her own as he was not allowed to tell her. Then she realizes Victoria the vampire is after her. Then we see her jump off a clif all in order to hear Edward’s voice again. She was content with dying but Jacob saved her from herself. Alice shows up at Bella’s house considering the fact that she saw Bella Jump from a clif. Alice made a promise to Edward she would not interfere. Alice realizes that if Edward finds out he will be upset at her for not listening. Bella convinces Alice to stay and Charlie let’s it slip how hard it’s been for Bella since they left. He makes a comment about Edward and Alice tells him not to assume. The next morning Charlie gets ready to go be with the Henry's family as he died just the day before. Jacob slips up and tells Edward Bella is at a funeral but Edward doesn’t know Bella is still alive as he was told she had killed herself. He made a plan so he wouldn’t have to live long without her. So Bella and Alice run off to go save him and Jacob begs her not to but she’s in love with Edward so of course a choice is made. We see Bella and Alice on a plane to Italy and we see Alice tell Jasper that he needed to stop the others and that she and Bella could do it. But she knew her chances were slim and she didn’t want to lose him like that. Alice and Bella make it to Volterra as Edward plans to reveal himself at noon to get the volturi to decide to kill him. Alice and Bella make it to Edward just as he begins to go through with his plan. Bella convinces him she is not dead. We then of course have the moment of truth with the volturi. Not long after this Bella is convincing Charlie that she loves Edward and will not let go of him without a fight. We get to the point where Bella puts her mortality to a vote and Edward finally makes a compromise with her about it. So with this one I remember reading to a point but this is where I had them taken from me. So I remember having the moments where I loved Jacob far more than I could have ever loved Edward and I think that it had a lot to do with the relationship between him and Bella in this book. I think one of the worst things is her jumping off the cliff and just accepting that she was dead. I think that there was so much with this book that went over. I thought that Bella and Edward are making the compromise at the end is important to the series and now we will continue on with this series soon. Here we are book 24 out of 300. We will be continuing on with the series but there will be other reviews between this one and the next one of the series but we will be continuing.
