Reviews: How to hang a witch 5 out of 5

Let's talk about it so tis is one of those books that I was rereading this year because I have enjoyed it in the past. This is one book that connected with on an emotional level because in high school I was constantly the butt of people's jokes and having people constantly turned against me due to me being quiet and embracing who I was willingly. So this book is one I bought after reading the second book which I had received as a gift. I read this series backwards but I loved every minute of it. This book is one that the first time I read it I was enthralled with how it turned out. This book took so many turns that I wasn't sure how to feel the end of it. But I loved it and I will definitely read it again.

Now let's cover a run down of what the book is about. So this is a book that takes place in Salem and references the witch trials. This is an important from the standpoint that it's basically a modern day witch hunt. The character Samantha Mather moved to Salem to be closer to the hospital where they were moving her father who was in a coma. She lives with her stepmother and they move into her late grandmother's house. Now when she moved to Salem the descendant families begin to know something is off as accidents begin to happen and deaths happen explained as well this did not happen until Samantha comes to town. We later find out that the descendants including Sam are cursed. Samantha is related to Cotton Mather in the story and we see how people treat her in a town where the trials are looked down on and where people are trying to do as they please given the past. So Samantha gets bullied and we hear how she is cursed and how no one should get close to her. She makes friends with the descendants but that takes time. She makes friends with the neighbor. He develops a crush on her. She falls in with a spirit and he falls in loves with her. She later gets close with the descendants over time. She also learns that the are all cursed. This is where she and the descendants work together to break the curse. One descendant does end up dying and his girlfriend tries to turn everyone against Sam but Sam shows them a part of the truth. This is something that later she would regret because it does hurt her relationship with Jaxon the neighbor boy. She gets his mom to help her with spells and he gets even more angry at her. This is important because she knows he would do anything to protect her and she can't let him do that because she doesn't want him to get her as a result of caring about her. So as we read we find out the crow woman took the descendants and is planning to kill them. We find out that Elijah is connected to the crow woman as well. Samantha goes to the place where the crow woman lived and to her surprise she knows the woman. Samantha saves the descendants but loses Elijah or does she? There is another book in this series which I will review as well. I love this series and the characters once it builds on them are great.
